I am grateful for the blessing that I have worked out how Satan seeks to infiltrate everything. It is comical at times but also very sad that people are misled.

What about “the Kingdom of God is within you”?

  1. Thank you for posting this Paul!!!!! I fully agree with it. We need to get out of this world. Be in it but not of it.

I hope this is a joke, yoga is one of the most healthiest thing you can do for your body. Your post is an oxymoron, it’s is like saying walking is bad exercise.

Thank you so much for this insight!
I have always been suspicious of yoga in any form … now I know WHY!!
Praise the Lord for truth and light!!

  2. Hi Paul, I see no problem with yoga as exercise. As he said it’s your belief. Breathing is also a part of yoga so isn’t Mike afraid it might lead to demonic influences also? I thank God for every breath I take. I exercise in various ways and give thanks to God for His wonderful creation. DDP yoga, or YRG,( yoga for regular guys) seems to be an exercise system that is helping people. I see nothing wrong if you focus on our Lord and give thanks for this body and His Word. Take care……… Danny

Danny, I agree. DDPYoga is about as far from being yoga as you can get and still call itself yoga!

I am still processing what the bother in Christ is teaching, But I know this truth that what is in me (Holy Spirit) is GREATER that what is in the world. if you seek only the teachings of Christ and actually live out his greatest commandment to LOVE others, Many Hindus would want the filling of LOVE and Peace that comes through the Holy Spirit. check out the new movie, father of Lights ( http://fatheroflightsfilm.com ). POWERFUL picture of Gods LOVE in action for ALL People! I would like to hear his testimony of how he came out of his yoga practice. God Bless.

A friend showed me photos of her time in India. Included was a statue of a hindu god “god of destruction” Statue was standing in a classic yoga pose..arm over the head and foot on the side of the knee. I was shocked actually, and it Got me interested in researching this pose and yoga.
I read that according to Hindu’s and yogi’s themselves yoga is part of their religion and they are quite insulted at non hindu’s doing “Western” or “Christian” yoga ! For them inseparable from their religion. Only Westerners seem to think yoga is ” just exercises” !
I do stretching exercies ( so do my dogs !) but we dont call it yoga !
I dont need yoga to pray either and I don’t notice Jesus and the disciples doing anything remotely akin to Yoga. Hinduism is not Christianity.

    Hi Paul
I don’t spend much time watching things but I just had to see this. It echoes what I have been sharing with others for a long time only at a greater depth and understanding. This guy is such a gifted speaker in addition to his experience and knowledge. I think this is one of those videos that all should see. This is a topic totally neglected in exposure and understanding and a great danger to so many. Great job! Timely message.

At first I was offended when a priest (not that I believe in Religions; I don’t) told me never to empty my mind like in Yoga. I just didn’t understand and was offended. Then I got saved!! Since then I realize that these yoga lifestyles compare nothing to mine now. When you have Jesus Christ, you need nothing of society, religion, or Yoga.

I find this mantra stuff pulls God down, and thereby pulls your life down so as not to be with God at all times who Is involved in every way with your life and WANTS the best for you.

    Hello,
I just watched the Christian yoga is an oxymoron clip.
I BEG to be interviewed as another point of view. I am a Christian and a yoga instructor. I am about to submit a book for publication called Devoted Yoga.
I am very tired and saddened by the continued fear based bashing of yoga as a viable way for believers to take on prayer as a whole body practice.
We live move and breathe in God’s presence during a christian practice of yoga based postures.
We enter into worship, we meditate on scripture, we speak out the Old Testament names of God to count all the ways we are blessed by God”s faithfulness in our lives. This is a beautiful expression of devotion- prayer in motion- and treating the body as a Temple for God’s indwelling presence though the sanctifying process of salvation in Christ Jesus/Yeshua.
I have plenty to say about Chakras, and Kundalini… but it is too much for here…God is in control over all things given unto him.
    Many blessings to you
    In Peace and Love
    ~Mishabae

wonder if you have never stepped into a yoga studio, or studied it, and you just do videos with the poses and they dont even teach all that stuff? this never ever has given me the desire to get involved in the deeper aspects of it
I like how it stretches my muscles and tones them and that is all…oh and it reminds me to breath deeply. I think it is what you make of it. Of course if it takes you into meditation for 14 hours a day and you want to study hinduism you are walking on dangerous ground, But it never has given me the desire to go into it that way. It wakes up my tired muscles in the morning. So how is that bad for you. Is there other really good stretching videos out there that dont incorporate yoga, yet that is where stretching came from, so now we can’t stretch our bodies in fear that we may be doing a pose? Circle dancing is wicca and pagan, but Hebrews do it, should they stop?

    Thanks Paul and Mike.
I appreciate words to go with my gut.
One person in the family uses yoga “stretches” to endure/heal back pain.
I’ve been told that stretching is a good thing.
Where is the line between a healthy stretch and an unsafe yoga pose ?

Thank you for teaching such important issues.

I see some serious inconsistencies with Mike Shreve. He talks as a Christian but endorses Buddhism, Confucianism, Hinduism, Islam, and a host of other religions on his web site. On the very top is lined with religious symbols giving credence to the stated religions among others. Oh, isn’t it nice that Christianity is also among the hit-parade. It makes me wonder what he believes in as he is endorsing every religion under the sun. Yet he wants to state yoga is evil. I don’t get it.
Render unto the Yogis their religion and attribute unto God faith, peace, and joy (see Matthew 22:15-22). Mike Shreve has an issue with yoga. I do not. I am a Christ-follower, not a religion follower. If we follow Mike’s thought process, we better stop celebrating Christmas which has pagan roots. We should also not create a web site with many anti-Christian religious symbols.
Folks, let’s be careful to whom we listen. I don’t claim to know much but I speak from the bible and the bible says “…. And if you will confess with your mouth our Lord Yeshua, and you will believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall have life (Romans 10:9)”. I will not listen to Mike Shreve.

    1. Alan, Mike does not endorse Buddhism hinduism or any other religion besides Christian. If you look at the info on his site you will clearly see his message. He explains on his site why all those religions are different from being a Christian. Get past the symbols and read his site.

Yoga means Union which is a good thing. “My burden is light, my yoke (yoga ) is easy. Yoke=Yoga. Jesus was in India and Tibet from ages 13 to 30. That’s why there is a gap during those years. Why? Because Jesus studied with the gurus and the yogis in India. This information has been suppresed for 2,00 years. He learned mantras:”I am the way, I am the truth, I am the life.” Of course this differs from Christian dogma, which is the one cause, one cure. The bible has been tampered with and certain parts have been deleted. It’s many causes, many cures, not one cause-original sin, one cure-believe in Jesus.

So confused right now. I practice yoga periodically and mostly do it from home. Simple videos of stretching nothing like what he is talking about. It is really good for the body , back problems etc.. I have been in classes as well and have seen and heard the chanting , I don’t do any of that mess. In fact if it’s like that I don’t even take the class. Pilates is similar so does that mean no to that as well? I am 45 years old and have been doing yoga on and off for a few years.Nothing steers me away from my Lord and savior. Maybe the people who have to worry about that are not Christians, baby Christians, are easily mislead or have no faith. I don’t know but I appreciate the information. Thanks

Just what I needed…..another excuse not to exercise!…..lol

I suppose if you went to a studio with all the symbolism, etc. but heck, most of the time I see Yoga it is just a class at a gym or family fitness center, or even just an instructor and a couple of students out on the beach. I really don’t see a problem with it, at least in that form.

    Dearest Paul, THANK YOU!

However I have found THE CAKE and now eat it TOO!

Laura Monica has settled this arguement once and for all! She gives ALL GLORY to God with WHOLY FIT .com….IT’S 1OO X BETTER THAN YOGA!

She will not call it “yoga” and it is not. That alone takes glory away from our Creator, who invented breathing and streching in the first place. Amen

Laura has spent over 25 years developing Wholy Fit, set to scripture. It’s a combo of the Scientifically proven BEST and most EFFECTIVE body moves
(note many yoga moves are clinically NOT HEATHY, and why many develop injuries with yoga over time).

Paul, I would love to see you connect with Laura…wow THAT would be powerful! You are a little “raw” for her (currently, lol), but she loves the Lord and I think you two would be an amazing team, as you are both teachers…sorta round-out both of you. Ha! At least interview her!

She is an amazing testimony & servent of the Lord, 100%. Check her out @ http://www.wholyfit.com (or maybe .org).

    Grace to you

Paul I thought you were smarter than this… they same the same things about vegans as well. I will pray on this though. So where do we go to learn to take care of our bodys without sinning? i have a cirvical disc injury and back problems so what can I do now? I love YAHWEH and He has made everything and the enemy just trys to steal and make them his to keep us sick.

  3. Bless you Paul,

Thank you for continuing to bring righteousness into our lives. Never been interested in this practice. But, I will say this I have always felt the seductive/sensual pull regarding yoga. I knew this was a practice that had nothing to do with YHWH’s kingdom. I would encourage anyone out there who is wondering what to do now; trust the Holy Spirit/Ruach who will lead you into all truth. The Ruach will show you the right excercises. It is all a matter of trusting th Ruach to lead us and guide us to what is right. As a reminder, test the spirits to see if they are of Yah or not. Measure everything by the Scriptures.
